2013Pinot NoirSoberanes Vineyard

$73.00 USD

Our 2013 Twomey Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noir is a classic expression of the Pisoni clone of Pinot Noir grown in Santa Lucia Highlands: dark color, bright fruit expression and great tannic structure. This wine has a dark, cherry-red color and a nose of violets, nectarines and cocoa powder with a hint of graphite. It has a fruity, bright attack and a velvety mid-palate that builds in intensity to a long, moderately tannic finish. Given proper cellaring, it will give drinking pleasure through 2024.

In the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains, Soberanes Vineyard brings out the best of the Pisoni clone of Pinot Noir, with granite-laden soils and sun-gathering exposure. The morning coastal fog and windy afternoons keep ripening in check, allowing the long development of deep yet vividly expressive Pinot Noir flavors.

“This is only Twomey’s second vintage working with fruit from Soberanes, but thanks to winemaker Daniel Baron’s light touch, it comes across as surprisingly deft in a region known for bombast. It’s as pulp and fresh as a Queen Anne cherry, the texture slowly fading on a rosy aroma with just a hint of savory tomato leaf.”
