Last Stop, once the terminus of an early 1900’s railway into the western reaches of Sonoma County, is seated in the Green Valley of an early neighborhood of the Russian River Valley. 2015, the fifth consecutive year of drought in California, brought much needed rain in late spring during flowering, affecting fruit set. Thankfully the protection of the surrounding mountains minimized the yield loss witnessed by other northern California vineyards. Summer was unusually warm, leading to ample and beautifully developed berries concentrated in both color and flavor.
