Pinot Noir from northern Willamette Valley is distinguished by the short and dry growing season where rain, short days and cool weather dictate the pace of harvest. The 2016 growing season was no exception. Fortunately, budbreak was a couple of weeks earlier than normal followed by warmer than average summer months. We typically enjoy a short break between harvesting our California Pinot Noir and Oregon Pinot Noir, but in 2016, we picked fruit back-to-back, though we never felt rushed. The gentle pace and relative ease of this vintage speak to the elegant tannins and beautiful acidity in our Oregon Pinot Noir.
