2016 began with replenishing rains that helped fill our reservoirs and saturate soils, abating by the end of March. These conditions allowed the vines to properly rest during dormancy. Budbreak at the end of March was followed by a promising flowering indicating larger than average yields. The summer months were warm, but as fall approached temperatures cooled providing ideal harvest conditions. Harvest began on August 18 with fruit from our Last Stop Vineyard in Forrestville and quickly wrapped up just shy of a month later on September 16 with fruit from Westpin Vineyard just a couple miles down the road from our Healdsburg winery.
